The Merit Badges should be sewn on the front of the sash as they are earned in neat, even rows of three. Other patches can be sewn on the the back of the sash, as long as they are not previously held Badges of Rank or Badges of Office!.

There was also a very strong desire from the Scouting community to enable all peak awards a Scout has achieved, to be worn on the uniform at once. This also created a need for a redesign of the overall badge design and uniform layout. This new layout can be implemented over the following three years or so.

Cub Scout activities are centered around earning badges that are specific to each school grade level. This badge represents a rank. Advancement refers to the progress a Cub Scout makes toward their badge of rank.
Where do you put the Webelos badge on a Boy Scout uniform?
