How do you mix ultraplan screed renovations?
Pour a 25 kg bag into a bucket containing 4.25-4.5 litres of clean water and mix with a low speed electric mixer to obtain an homogeneous, self-levelling, lump free mix. Larger quantities can be prepared in suitable mixers. After 2-3 minutes of slackening, the mix should then be restirred and then it is ready for use.

Does Mapei ultraplan 3240 need a primer?
The substrate should be primed with Eco Prim Grip or Eco Prim T Plus prior to the application of Ultraplan Renovation Screed 3240. For marine use apply a thin coat of MAPEI Eco Prim Marine onto the clean dry surface without leaving pools of primer an the surface.

What does a spiked roller do?
A spiked roller must be used on the newly laid screed to release trapped air bubbles, preventing them from curing on the surface. If a spiked roller is not used, air bubbles will form on the surface and will ruin the finish of the smooth leveller, it may also cause lifting or cracking further down the line.
Can you use Mapei renovation screed over bitumen?
because a latex based screed should never ever be used over Bitumen, the green colouring may be due to a chemical reaction between the two substrates which will require the screed to be mechanically removed.

If you go on to level flex website it tells you it can be used over chipboard. I’ve never had a problem when I’ve screeded the odd ensuite/bathroom.

From reading previous threads, Professional tilers on here and admin have firmly stated that a good rub down with a degreaser and a neat coating of Bal SBR bond is fine over the bitumen before tiling commences.
